Tales of the Unexpected, 'Royal Jelly' (1980)

God, this was terrible. A beekeeper, played by Timothy West, feeds his baby daughter on royal jelly, and she apparently turns into a queen bee by the end of the episode. West's character has also been indulging in the stuff himself, and is making buzzing noises in the final few minutes as well. Almost so bad that it's good. Almost...

Grimm (2011)

Season 1
Episodes 1 (Pilot), 2 (Bears Will Be Bears), and 3 (BeeWare)

When this originally aired, it was one of my favorite time on the SciFi channel, but SciFi and USA had several programs I enjoyed at that time. I forgot how funny the character Monroe could be.

I watched the first three or four seasons of Grimm, and then lost track. I am watching it on Peacock.

Tales of the Unexpected, 'Skin' (1980)

Another very bizarre episode, based on a Roald Dahl short story about the Russian artist Chaim Soutine. Stars Derek Jacobi and Lucy Gutteridge.

Tales of the Unexpected

An episode called 'Galloping Foxley' from 1980. A tale of English public school bullying, supposedly a true story from Roald Dahl's own experience in the late 1930s. Opinions vary as to whether this is an ambiguous minor masterpiece or a complete damp squib. My initial reaction tended towards the latter, but on reflection, maybe this was a bit more subtle than it initially appeared....
