Personally, I like Janeway or Picard best! I like Picard because he is so logical and for the most part, unemotional. I respect him, and he's just a good captain. On the other hate, I really don't like Kirk. He has a superiority complex, and he's always trying to massage his ego. >.>

Anyway, what do you all think?

Kirk is old-school and can never be replaced. That said...

Picard all the way!! ! Wo wo wo! Any captain who does Shakespeare in his spare time is my boy.

There will only be one captain of the Enterprise – James T. Kirk.
To quote some lyrics from ‘The In Crowd’ by Dobie Gray:

“Other guys entertain us,
But the originals are still the greatest.”

Nah, it's got to be Picard. "Make it so."

William Shatner lost a lot of fans when he starred in some All Bran cereal ads in Canada a couple years ago.

I'd take Picard over Kirk. I'd rather have a captain who specializes in Shakespeare instead of cereal to make you regular.

Sisko, because he does a little bit of everything, because he has the best backstory of any Star Trek captain, and of course, because he's the emissary. And also because he's the only Star Trek captain who dies at the end (unless you count Janeway in the alternate future). I cried my eyes out during that scene.
Janeway's a good leader who knows what she's doing, so I'd have to say she's about tied with Picard, except that unlike Picard she knows exactly -when- to follow the rules and when -not- to follow the rules. She takes advantage of the situation in a way that will protect her crew.
Picard's a good captain too, but he's more of a commanding, traditional authority figure who really doesn't have all that many unusual traits or interesting bits of backstory to make him really interesting.
As for Kirk, the way I see it people only like him because he was "the original". Well, actualy, Pike was the original (Why isn't he listed in the poll? Or Archer, ftm?), but that's btp. Kirk just comes across as too much of a jerk for my tastes. He's just too macho for me to see him as a likeable captain.

Picard...maybe it's his way he balances the roles of diplomat and warrior, or perhaps it has something to do with the fact that NG was what first introduced me to StarTrek when I was little. He can be the most intimidating, that much is certain.
Though I've been on occasion slightly annoyed with this little "prime directive" obsession of his, but that's probably just because I have trouble coming up with a solution more complex than blowing things off the face of the galaxy. It's probably all that Star-Wars...
But, hey, better that than spending his time figuring out how to score with anything humanoid and vaguely female unlike certain other captains...

Yep, it's definately that 'Imperial March' mentality...I would make a terrible Starfleet officer...

Yup, janeway or picard for me. Theyre both great leaders in their respective series.

"The line must be drawn HE-YAH! This far, NO farther! And I... will make them PAY for what they've done!"

Picard, definitely.
