I quit this site about a week ago or so, but I decided to have a look around again and this is the only thing that warrants a reply, since you have gotten none. I REAAALLY love Jean-Luc Godard. Breathless is not my favourite film of his, but for more closer to that style try 'Vivre sa vie', 'Alphaville' and 'Bande a parte'. I prefer 'Pierrot le fou' and 'Weekend' etcetera, but I am really simplifying those films to say that they are of the same kind. Another director to try is of course Truffaut, if you haven't already. I'm I huge fan of Fassbinder, and though he was German, he was influenced (at times more evidently than others) influenced by his French counterparts. Bleghsehfsj.
