So now there's a rich, annoying, talentless character on Glee who says mean things and then cheerfully blames it on her self-diagnosed Asperger's.
Thoughts?

If you look around there's a four or five page thread of "thoughts" on the subject. :?

I always thought it was about a group of super nerds on their epic quest to destroy music.

Glee needs to be firebombed and flung into the flames of hell, and it's just a bunch of teenyboppers ruining the good name of music.

My sister is a huge fan of Glee. I actually have no problem with the program. I hope Glee covers S Club 7.

I think making money is more likely they managed to outsell any other artist on iTunes even Michael Jackson, Elvis and the Beatles.

That is an insult in itself, and a sad reflection of mainstream music in general.

I think it is good that they have this character with Aspergers Syndrone in Glee as it challenges the stereotype of all aspies of being geeky.

Nothing wrong with being geeky. Would have been much better than the character they used that's for sure.

Perhaps, but her strength at this point seems to come from abruptly expressed rigid ignorance. I hope they create more dimension to this character at some point.

Are we meant to think that she actually HAS Asperger's?
To me, it seems more like she is meant to be seen as someone faking a condition to suit her purposes.
If that's the case, I think it is a slap in the face to anyone without an "official" diagnosis (the vast majority of adult aspies, for example). I also wonder why, with roughly 1% of students being diagnosed with some form of autism, the Glee writers have chosen to address the issue only in this manner. I like Glee, but so far I find this offensive. I hope in the future this character will either be shown to have genuine social difficulties, or else will be called out by other characters as a fraud.
