Say, don't you think he looks as though he could've been diagnosed with Asperger's? He's got this strange speech pattern, and he always looks a bit clueless, and acts as though he sometimes doesn't quite understand what's being said to him, or why it's being said. He often ignores attempts to lead an interview anywhere, and just tells stories. And he says the sort of things I used to say when I was younger, when I used my cluelessness, general clumsiness and literal interpretation as a comedic tool. At least I think I used to - the past is a bit foggy for me. People think it's his "comedic act" and that he's a master of "non-humor" (whatever that is), but somehow I tend to think it's his natural personality, mainly because of his often visible nervousness and apparent bewilderment, at least in the older interviews, those from the nineties.

I do think you're right.

Some people I know have interacted with him personally and arrived at the conclusion that, yes, he is on some sort of spectrum. He has a strange way of expressing emotions and doesn't seem to do back-and-forth conversation very well. That is, he will change subject in odd ways.

Yeah. Maybe that's why I've always liked him. He's a clever comedian though... at least I think so.

I see Norm McDonald as "annoying funny".

In other words, his comedy is annoying, but it's intentionally that way...and it works.
