Which Star Trek series is closest to the real-life?

I mean that is most similar to a normal life in aspect it the feasibility of in near or distant future,

The current reboot - the events depicted on Earth at the beginning of the movie were the most believable ... kid steals car ... police give chase ... kid gets caught. Even the debarkation scene was realistic enough - I've been through a few of those in the real military.

In my opinion, Star Trek: Enterprise was the most realistic .

Yeah, I agree with pawelk. To me it felt the most similar to real life... which is kind of where Enterprise lacked in appeal to me. When I watched Next Generation and Deep Space 9, paert of the charm was that you'd see this blatantly noble, idealistic crew (even if there were characters with rough edges, like Worf and Kyra). And you'd see this idealised world and technology with the replicators, holodecks etc. ... Episodes tended to have relatively happy endings with a big fat (though often clever) moral. It was more like a dream or a fantasy of what mankind could be.

All of this felt a little bit less bright and shiny in Enterprise, but I understand that much of this owes to Enterprise having been created in the post 9/11 mindset of science fiction. Most sci-fi shows in the last 10 years present worlds that are a bit more pessimistic, with unforgiving, deadlier antagonists, and an idealism that -if at all present- is put into perspective with greyer shades of morality.

^^^I think your memory of DS9 is a bit too rosy.

I loved DS9 because it was a world populated by unrepentant terrorists, religious zealots, and greedy shop keepers. People still worried about money and, far from noble, the characters were motivated by things like wounded pride.

Settings aside, DS9 had the most realistic, most human characters and stories.

...that's my take, anyway.

I agree. Half the stuff on the ship didn't work.

If you mean Bajorans you are great mistake, why you call them terrorist, In my opinion, they were patriots fighting for their country (planet), is that they used irregular warfare due Cardassian outnumber them,.

One thing that makes the show so realistic is the portrayal of the Bajorians. They were patriots AND/OR terrorists. Which, depends solely on one's point of view.

That's why the show is so good.

The original series, many of the futuristic devices depicted in those episodes are reality today, just 45 years later.

I am still waiting for warp drive and the matter teleporter.

Although thanks to this film, has renewed my fascination for Star Trek.
My adventure with the series begun with watching Star Trek: The Next Generation when I was maybe 8 years old, then I did not understand much of Star Trek, but I loved it, I built up together with a friend miniature spaceship bridge because I wanted to be like the captain Picard .

After watching the last movie I decided to watch all the Star Trek and I have to admit that they were much better, the most annoying was that the last movie, totally smashed the time line. I hope that Captain Picard back in time and kick the director in a certain place
