Fringe character

My schedule is really busy (!) but on some evenings I get to watch a non-committal DVD and I have the Fringe series. Part of the story takes place in an alternate universe that overlaps with the universe of the 'first people.' Their universe has been made fragile due to a fracture inadvertently caused by the lead scientist (my favourite character!) who was only trying to rescue his son.

Anyway, one characters, Astrid, assists the scientist. (Astrid is certainly neurotypical - considered as a 'warm' characters and friendly). On one later episode, the alternate universe Astrid visits and her difference is obvious. In fact, I recognised it: She's a high-functioning autistic. This Astrid makes mention of her 'difference' too. So I googled Astrid's alternate universe character and indeed she is an Aspergers individual.

Thought it was interesting that we get to see Astrid as both an NT and an Aspie, like doppelgangers. I'd always imagined I might have a NT doppelganger somewhere!

Any Fringe fans?

Jasika Nicole's sister is on the spectrum in real life hence the good portrayal.

I wonder too.....as the series progresses, it becomes evident there is not just an alternate universe, but multitudes of time-lines with subtle variations.

I wish Walter was my dad.

Oh I know...if you think about the possibilities for too long your brain hurts. Its like Hawking's lectures meets chaos theory. Fringe is (was :sniff:) the best show ever! I am glad the fans fought hard enough to get a decent ending. Otherwise I would have been beyond miffed.

LOL about Walter. I always imagined he would make a really fun uncle but an even better grandpa. Imagine being a little kid hanging out in Walter's lab! Every lab needs a cow!
