I quite like Once upon a time I did get a bit confused with some of the story lines in it though, it looks like there's another series as we've just had ads about it(probably next year).

Yes, It's strange when it goes in non-chronological order, but it is interesting that each character has their own story(ies). I'm from England so I don't know when the new series will be out for me, and anyway, it may get cancelled, I don't know.

It's great fictional prime-time drama. The storyline gets confusing but I keep myself tuned in.

Meh.

It's another "Lost", only with faeries and magic mirrors.

I'm caught up on the first three seasons. Haven't started season four yet.

To sum it up, this show is TERRIBLE.

The characters aren't really that likeable and the decisions they make are so ridiculously stupid that an average person in real life would be smarter than these characters. Things feel rewritten for the sake of plot. I was so annoyed when they gave the main character Emma the ability to tell when people are lying, only to then waste a long storyarc on her being deceived without having a clue...and this was in season 1. Are you kidding? Why even write the character like that if you're not gonna stay true to it?

It seemed apparent that the writers don't have much for ideas especially after the curse was somewhat broken and that they are now trying to drag storylines as painfully long as possible. In fact since season 2, I've noticed a disturbing pattern in these episodes...

1. Fight big baddie
2. Lose badly
3. Throw in pointless back stories
4. Rinse
5. Lather
6. Repeat

That is of course when the writers FINALLY decided to end the storyarc. It looks like it's a different villain every season or half season depending. There really is not overall story or character development anymore. Characters are made either stupid or evil depending on what conveniences the plot. They build Emma and Henry up to be two of the most important characters in the series and they're practically wasted. In fact, everytime it seems like the show is building up to something important to the overall world or story, you can expect be dissappointed...it's usually just another curse that will eventually solve itself or whatever.

Also as far as the SwanQueen vs SwanFire vs CaptainSwan shipping debate...if you were to give me a choice, I would say none of the above. They can't write a decent likeable interest for Emma that is relevant to the story being told at hand which is quite a shame when this show tries to beat "true love" into our heads, yet none of the romances on the show have any depth, believeability, or likability to them.

I don't know how much more of this show I will be able to tolerate sitting through.

If you think the show is that bad, why did you sit through three seasons of it?

I first heard of the show maybe 2 years ago, but avoided it because I thought it would be stupid. I'd never seen "Lost" (and still haven't), but when I found out the creators of "Once" had also written "Tron: "Legacy"...that piqued my interest. I saw the first two seasons online, and have been watching live since Season 3...though I'm currently two episodes behind on Season 4.

I really love how they've combined and twisted all the various "fairy tales" into weird yet captivating storylines. I'd never thought of Snow White and Prince Charming having children before, let alone grandchildren. The fact that most of Storybrooke's residents were frozen in time for 28 years really adds a lot of possibilities...and most have turned out very well so far.

The joy of torture I suppose?

The show keeps giving me the false expectation that it would improve (at least in its writing). I almost gave up on the show for good back in season 1 until the Mad Hatter episode brought Emma's supposed magical abilities into play. And then there were certain storyarcs in seasons 2 & 3 that had me thinking they could be building up to something big. I hadn't notice the "pattern of annoyance" with the writing until the recent Wicked Witch storyarc.

So far its not looking so good in season 4 either...I mean really? Someone had to remind Emma that she had magic powers that she could use? :wall: The writing almost becoming so bad it's good territory. It's now something I'll only catch up on if I really have nothing else better to do.

Who brought this thread back to life? I created it two years ago at the beginning of the series!

The storylines do drag and the writers seem to forget about Emma's ability to detect lies from time to time. I don't think they ever explained how she got that ability to begin with (correct me if I'm wrong). Plus there was that Frankenstein storyline back in season one (remember that, y'all?), which they seemed to drop by the end of the season.

Still, I really enjoy the show. I'm not impressed so far by season four, but the latest episode that aired (where Emma and Regina teamed up despite the latter's being royally pissed at her) was good enough, so I will continue watching.

Loving season four. I admit to adoring Elsa and Anna and their relationship. Always nice to see something besides another romantic story line. Season has been strong in general though. Glad that Emma and Regina are seemingly on a path to being friends. Snow Queen is fun. Liking the mystery involving the hat.

Just started watching it on Netflix. I'm on season 2 now, and I think it's really good.
