Is Shameless (UK version) past it now?

I do still enjoy watching Shameless, it's one of the only decent things on tv when it's on. But it had started feeling like it's getting past it what with older characters leaving. Not many times do I prefer older series of tv shows but Shameless is one where I really prefer the older ones.

The show always used to be about the Gallaghers and just typical estate antics and then it became the Maguire show. I don't mind them at all but they do overly dominate the show now and have done for a few years.

I miss Fiona, Steve, Kev & Veronica, Lip, Ian, Debbie, Paddy, Yvonne and Sheila. New characters like Billy, Patty and the Powells seem really pointless and like they're fillers.

Anyone else watch? Agree or disagree with what I've said?

It was past it about four series ago.

For me it felt more over in series 4 when Kev left :/ Not sure why he was my favourite character really. Episodes since have just lacked something but I'm not sure what it is.
