I'm excited to hear about the film Prometheus being released since it was going to be in 3D, and I heard the plot was really good.

I've seen the preview 100's of times, and I'm waiting on the newest preview.

Some people have been rumoring this film as an Alien prequel due to some references and also having the Weyland character.

It looks like something to do with Alien, but maybe that is just marketing crap.

It's the same universe as Alien and again using HR Giger artwork.

While at not as related to the main alien it's more about the dead one found in the derelict craft in the first movie.

I maybe very very wrong about this but I've heard rumours that there is to be a same sex scene with 2 men in the movie. Something to do with experimenting I think though I could be very wrong. If it's true then WTF.

What I don't get is if its supposed to be about the original alien ship then why are humans in the film?

I don't know the problem. I just wonder what humans have to do with the original alien ship from Alien.

Well in the first movie Ash knew about the alien. He had orders to bring it back and the crew was expendable.

So at some point The Company learned about this thing and arranged to have a ship encounter it.

Yes the Company defiately know about the derelict ship on LV 426 they sent the Nostromo there in Alien and they sent the Terraforming colony there in Aliens, hoping to get a specimen for the use in biological weapons

But I wonder if this new film is saying that the company were the ones who built the alien ship? Perhaps they created the alien species, something went wrong on LV426 and so they made the Nostromo go there to find out what happened.
