Cowboy Bebop-Mad Peirrot Epsiode
Hey any of you Beboppers remember the Cowboy Bebop episode Peirrot le Fu? For those who haven't seen it basically the main character Spike is going after a killer known as "Mad Peirrot" a.k.a. Tongpu. Tongpu is a psychotic killer that dresses like a pompous aristocrat and has a cane that fires bullets. He is also a psychic superhuman that can deflect bullets and levitate. Later on you learn how he got to be that way. He was basically subjected to all sorts of genetic and psychic experiments to make him into a human superweapon. The torture he went through gave him his powers but also destroyed his mind to make him crazy and made him revert to something of a child. Later on Spike faces off against him and gets him to drop his guard to throw a knife in Tongpu's leg. This causes Tongpu to breakdown and start crying for his mommy like a four year old. In his distraction, he gets crushed by a parade float and dies.

I can't even begin to tell you all how OBSESSED I am with this episode. The part where Tongpu goes from a gentlemanly yet mad murderer to rolling on his back in tears crying for his mommy is one of the most disturbing and haunting things I have ever seen. I sometimes find myself watching the YouTube clips of it over and over and over. I have no idea why this is. Even though he is the villain, you kind of feel bad for him and want to pick him up and comfort him. Yet part of me is also fascinated (maybe disturbingly so) by seeing a full grown adult broken down into a little kid. Maybe I feel like doing this myself when things don't go my way. I already know that I myself am quite immature for a my age. Personally I'd rather have fun like a little kid any day rather than deal with the adult world. Does anyone else feel like this? And have comments on the episode or this scene?
