Anyone watch this show? What do you think of it so far?

I like it. I think it is interesting how they separate the worlds by havingthe mom's side red and the son's more green.

I have a soft spot for B.D. Wong, Cherry Jones and Jason Isaacs so I had really high hopes for this show. It's not that I don't like it (I will definitely keep watching) but I'm finding it kind of boring right now. There's a lot of angst but not a lot of movement, story-wise. I suspect that there won't be a second season.
I wish they would play around more with the alternate reality crime-solving and... I'm so ashamed of myself for this, but... I think there should be more Wilmer Valderrama. I think his character is valuable to the story and he should get more screen time.

ETA: I'm actually finding the ongoing grief of the wife and son to be kind of a killer. I know it's the premise of the show, but seriously? Everyone's so friggin' sad ALL THE TIME. I know their loved one just died, but if I want horribly depressing stories about loss there's always real life. Make with the interesting psychosis/sci-fi storyline that you touted. That's why I climbed aboard in the first place.

That might be true, sadly enough. It's a good concept, but I'm not sure they really know where it's headed right now, and it would take a long time to really get anywhere.

I will hang on as long as it's around, though, and I really hope they don't just cut it off abruptly and leave everything unresolved...I hate that.

It's great to see him playing someone who is...not Fez. He's doing a really great job.

Maybe they'll have an episode that revolves around him--well, as much as is possible when both realities have to be from Britten's POV to make the plot work.

Idea: he's accused of some kind of wrongdoing, and in one reality he's innocent, but in the other he's guilty.

Glad other people watch this. 8)

Just watched the latest episode tonight. I really enjoy Awake!

I didn't see it till the third episode. I had chosen to commit to Touch instead. That turned out to be a let down. I thought that story was going to be cool with the premise. Ended up being 80% of the program of Sutherland nonstop chasing the kid across town yelling "Josh, wait, Josh!!" In the middle of the third show of that, I switched loyalty to Awake.

Really enjoy shows like this that make you think to keep up.

Thanks for the review. I wondered if I was missing something by not watching TOUCH. In my time zone, that comes on before AWAKE, but I kept forgetting about it every week.

I like shows that make you think, too. Hope it lasts long enough for us to actually find out what's going on, and what Laura Innes' and Mark Harelik's characters are REALLY up to.

Ok...so.... Capt. Harper is in kahoots (kindasorta?) with Carl about a delivery of heroin. I don't think she's a bad cop but maybe?? Tonight's episode she protected Det. Britten by having Carl hold off on the heroin delivery. What power does she have over him to to be able to do that? She has a soft spot for Britten because they have worked together in the past. (and maybe more?) Maybe he'll end up saving her bacon later.

Oh, and was Det. Vegan's drug bust That heroin??

I do still enjoy this show. It's watch worthy!

I can't believe they made the "big mystery" about drugs. How cliched.

It looks like Britten figures out (next week) that the "accident" wasn't. I can't help wondering if the series was actually MEANT to be long-running or just a "mini-series" (even though they didn't bill it as one). Perhaps they were testing it out to see if it could be picked up again next fall.

So it's kind of hard to tell what Harper and Carl are really all about--their characters aren't as well-developed as they could be. Hope that all has a chance to change.

But yes, it is still watch worthy. :)

Last night I was thinking that Britten would eventually find out both son and wife were alive. It would make for that oh-so-typical happy tvland ending.

OR.... there was an accident and Britten went into a coma and wife and son were happily waiting bedside. Another great tvland ending. (hmm... wait, that means son and wife solved all those cases...nahh)

- but hey the whole dream thing worked for JR on Dallas.

Cancelling? Yeah, that sounds about right. Universe forbid we have a halfway thought provoking show on. Guess it's back to PBR and science/history channels.

I have not seen this show, but I will watch it when it comes on to see if I like it or if it's any good.
