There are rumors going around that Batman might be killed off in The Dark Knight Rises, I sure freaking hope not. Now I'm aware that this is the last movie in the Nolan series and that there will be other Batman movies in the future but will not co-exist with the Nolan ones, but still Batman should not die. He should live to the very end like Harry Potter.

I hope not, too! Anyway, in the Nolan series we haven't seen The Riddler, Robin, The Penguin or all the other characters in the Batnan world so there is hope.

What's wrong if he dies? You do know that Bruce Wayne died in the comics for about a year (before they brought him back) and Dick Grayson took over the mantle of Batman right?

Nolan has said this is the final film he is doing in his series and that Robin and Penguin would never appear in his Batman universe.

Even if Batman dies this time around, when a new actor takes Christian Bale's place, they'll just assume that Bale's movies had never happened, just as was done with the previous Batman franchise.

Hopefully we will FINALLY get a Batman movie franchise that is similar to the comics...

I have heard rumours that the future batman franchise will be directed by Zack Snyder, the director of 300 and Watchmen. I could imagine more comical characters appearing in his version and Warner Brothers will probably make full use of the 3D technology.

I'd rather wait until the Dark Knight Rises is released before jumping to massively preposterous conclusions. All the snippets revealed in the recent trailers and TV spots indicate that somehow, Batman might just defeat Bane and get welcomed back to Gotham again.

See we aren't talking about the small trailers and TV spots, we are referring to actual "leaks" and things that actors and or others have left slip. There is an insane amount out there to confirm that Bruce either will die at the end or give up the mantle of Batman and somebody else (possibly JGL's character) will take it up. But there is pretty much zero doubt nowadays that Bruce will be Batman by the end of the movie.

I heard that there's a children's book availible of the movie that might give it away so if anyone was ever thinking of typing that down please do not.

Welll, he has to die someday, hasn't he? As far as I know, he's not immortal.
