If You were Casting, Best Actor for a Doctor Who Movie?

Lets have some fun!
They've been talking about a Doctor Who movie for ages and the leading contenders seem to be Johnny Depp and Hugh Laurie. Both good choices if written right.
Do You have any other suggestions or dream casting?
I think Anthony Head (Giles on Buffy) would be pretty good. I imagine him as a cross between Giles and David Attenborough.

I agree with Johnny Depp as the Doctor. Out of those actors who have passed away I think that Heath Ledger (Joker in Dark Knight) would have been a good Doctor.

Johnny Depp? Nah, I think Benedict Cumberpatch (Sherlock Holmes out of Sherlock) would be perfect doctor!
