I'm watching an absloutely fascinating episode about a Native American teenage boy that suffers from seizures. The doctor is mapping his brain with electrodes to find the faulty areas, and then cutting them out in a risky procedure. The show contains actual footage of the surgery, and the processes involved. I'm so intrigued by this, modern medical science is absloutely amazing! There's no way to describe how awesome I think medical science is. I service electronic equipment for a living, but that's paltry compared to what doctors can do.
I think one of the reasons why I can appreciate the miracle of surgery is because I am not really wired for "gross". I can look at the insides of a living creature with awe, amazement and intrigue, and not get the least bit weirded out by it. We have only begun to understand our own human minds. They make the millions of transistors and circuits within a state of the art computer appear simple and crude.
The boy fully recovered and was able to get off of a whole drawer full of meds that weren't doing him much good, and gave him debiliating side effect. He was able to be a normal teenage boy doing the fun things in life that we all take for granted! I think it's amazing that humans are the only animal capable of repairing each other's sicknesses and injuries. That is an absloutely amazing ability that God has blessed us with!
