So, "Moe" is a certain type of cute that emerged from Japenese anime culture. I think the personality is associated with shyness, innocence, and emotional vulnerability, and I think there is some physical characteristics as well. Anyway, I saw this disturbing picture of Eva-01, and it prompted me to look up Neon Genesis Evangelion. I then learned that the character Rei ended up serving as the basis for the Moe archtype, she started the Moe explosion. Now, the thing about Rei is this: She is a complete social recluse. She is incredibly loyal to the one person she bounds with. She comes across as expressionless, apparently emotionless, but she is actually torn inside. Does this remind you of anyone? What's more, she was designed to be creepy, but instead people found her endearing. Now, I looked at some more of the proto-Moe's and two of them were from Sailor Moon, Mercury, who I guess is the nerd, and Saturn, who I guess is the disabled girl. I've also noticed that a bunch of other characters labled "Moe" display some autistic traits. I wonder, is there any connection?

He said we were anti-social and mindlessly obsessed and are not real at all, paah! What would he know? After all, anime is my interest and I care about people, in fact I'm writing a book where the main character has Aspergers as a slap in the face to him.

Where is the original quote? Are you sure that's what he meant?

When I saw Moe, I was hoping this was about Moe Zsyslak (Moe's Tavern/bartender) from the Simpsons whom I bet most Aspies can relate to very easily as well.
