VHS or DVD?

Which one would you prefer?

DVD, most certainly - they have subtitles.

Uh...DVD because vhs is ancient history...

DVD's are much more efficient.

* Take up less room.

* Don't have to rewind them.

* Life of the disc can hypothetically be centuries. That's not the case with VHS.

* Consistant viewing definition. With VHS, the picture gets worn out, since the tape stretches a bit with every viewing.

I prefer DVDs. I despise VHS. I boycott them 99 % of the time.

I prefer DVDs.

I haven't watched a VHS since I got a DVD player I think. I have lost a couple via scratches, and my dog ripped one apart.

Laserdisc! j/k

A more interesting question would be: HD-DVD or Blueray?

DVDs because I love watching the extras that most DVDs have on them, you can skip to bits you want to watch much easier and the subtitles are always handy.

I don't mind VHS but...

DVD is better because they have subtitle options and I study languages, and because they last longer (Like CD lasts longer than tape.)

(I didn't put this in for any reason -- I just like emoticons.)

I definitely prefer DVDs:

1. They take up less room.
2. They have no need to be rewound when finished watching.
3. They have subtitles. (Even though I prefer TV Captions, myself.)
4. They have Special Features. (Can you say "Blooper Reel"? XD)

Even though I like them, I believe they are on their way out. CDs are going to be dead at anytime. (iPods/iTunes? Jump Drives? Chips? I'm surprised they haven't kicked the bucket already!)

DVD, but personally, I get a little depressed whenever I go to a video store that is slowly selling off its VHS titles.

Both.

VHS is dead, so it is really no contest.

All things considered, Beta. ED Beta if I'm feeling really snobby. But S-VHS would be a close second (I still use it). No disc rot or scratches, and almost as much resolution as LaserDisc (which is almost as good as DVD, let me remind you).
