Digimon 02 Epilogue

I've just recently finished watching this season after the first one and I'm hearing that quite alot of people didn't really like the epilogue. I will admit I guess it sorta bothers me too. The fact that Myotismon the greatest villain in anything Digimon was defeated by the dreams and hopes of children was kinda lame and also seeing the adult Digidenstined careers, I mean Matt as an Astronaut, I thought he was a rock star and Tai as a diplomat, I thought he was gonna be something football related. But I guess it wasn't all bad I mean I guess there were more dissapointing epilogues to other great tv shows. This episode is a bit of a noodle scratcher because I don't really know if I like or dislike it but I still love Digimon 02.

I remember that. Kinda tear jerker, if ya ask me; and...... some of whom the people ended up is questionable, IMO.

Other than the reasons you brought up, tb86, I understand a lot of people didn't like 02's ending because it was too happy (well, except for Oikawa dying, of course), whereas Adventure's ending was too sad. Sort of a neat balance, if you will.

Still, I personally think it stands as one of the all-time lamest endings of anything I've ever seen, all the more apparent since I realized Digimon was a pretty stupid show to begin with. (I mean, as a kid, I loved the hell out of it, even though I knew how insanely overwrought it was, but nowadays I don't even bother revisiting it because I've moved on to better, more mature anime. I just hope to God I don't feel the same way about Fairy Tail, especially considering how incoherent I think the current arc is. Okay, end digression.) Personally, I like to think of it as a lamer, more goody-goody anime version of how Roseanne ended. :lol:

I just chuckled at what you said.
To me, the conclusion is better to me if it's heard in Japanese instead of the edited English one.
