Today i watched re-run of episode 8 from Season 4 of Supernatural and noticed similarities to Ted.

this episode is about "wishful thinking" girl wanted that her Tedy Bear become alive, and it happened, unfortunately bear is rude and vulgar

I've never seen either, so I could'nt tell the OP if they are or are not.

Plagiarism is when someone uses someone else's work without giving them credit....taking paragraphs, using pictures, etc.

Imitation....well, last 4 times I watched Family Guy, it was a parody of something else, so that's a reasonable word to use.

Gven that Supernatural and Seth McFarlane's work are densely 'intertextual' (i.e. packed with allusions and references to previous works) it's possible they both borrowed the same plot from elsewhere.
