I think it has the potential to be a great movie. It's giving me Monsters Inc vibes. I admit that I didn't give Wreck It Ralph much thought when I heard about it earlier this year, but that was because I was too focused on the two Tim Burton movies that had come out, plus Brave. But now that I have seen those movies (and were disappointed with them - the Burton ones at least), I can now say that I am cautiously looking forward to Wreck It Ralph. My mom thinks it looks too much like a "kiddie movie" and she doesn't want to go see it at all, which is weird because you'd think that someone who supports my My Little Pony obsession wouldn't have a problem with a movie about video games.
As much as I hate disagreeing with my mom, I'm going to have to do so in this situation.

I'm really looking forward to Wreck-It-Ralph, myself.

Ralph just looks like a big, burly, lovable guy, and his little friend Vanellope von Schweetz is so cute.

She's like Agnes from
Despicable Me and Boo from
Monsters, INC combined.
I also went ahead and ordered a Ralph plushie off the Disney Store website...he's even sweeter in plushie form. His hands are clenched into fists, but his arms are long enough to actually give hugs.

Your post made me smile. I love it when you talk about your plushies.

I would buy a Ralph plushie for myself, but I bought a Victor Frankenstein plushie from Frankenweenie before I saw the movie and I regret it because I wound up not liking the movie. So from now on I'm not going to buy movie merchandise until I'm sure that I like it beforehand.
