Rocky II is pretty good, because it follows so closely with the original. Besides without it we would never have had the quote, "Yo Adrian, I DID IT!".

@kxmode: what congregation are you with?

I thought the last Rocky was surprisingly good ,almost as good as the first one.

I've never liked any of them except the first, although I haven't seen the last one yet. I watch the first one about once a year. When I was in 6th grade, I bought the book and read it. I don't know if the movie was based on the book, or if the book was written based on the movie. It was very much like the movie, if I remember correctly. I was reading that book when my grandmother died, so I remember that much of it clearly.

They're all my favorite! Greatest film series in history. Seen them all multiple times and own them on DVD. I thought Rocky 6 was a really great way to end the series. :)

Quick thoughts on the films:
Rocky: Classic. 'Nuff said.
Rocky II: Tone-wise, a carbon copy of the original. But they changed just enough of the formula to make it work.
Rocky III: More about the action than the character development, but the characters we had to go with were good enough.
Rocky IV: The lack of Bill Conti's score is glaring. Plus, did we really need that bug-eyed robot?
Rocky V: Still the worst of the series. At least Rocky IV had the cheesiness factor to somewhat rescue it.
Rocky Balboa: Best one since the original. Great character development and a good blending of both the modern and the retro.

I have the first four on Blu-ray. I haven't seen the other two yet, but I'm planning on it.

I watched the first five films. "Sue me for what?" was one of the best lines in the fifth one. Still, I didn't like it ending there with Rocky being homeless in poverty. I hope to see the sixth one soon. Why did they have to call it "Rocky Balboa"? It sounds like a remake rather than a sequel.

It was a remake as well as a penultimate finale to the sequel. I enjoyed them, watched all of them. I grew up believing I could get though anything and be anyone because of him. That is why I still rate him the best male action figure to cross our screens. we love you Sly.
