Thoughts on second episode? I missed the first part (thanks homework) but based on the rest of the first half have reasoned that it was pretty slow.

As to the Coulson theory, I believe they are going to try something totally new. Why wouldn't you? Marvel has a relatively clean slate with this show; no comic book history to adhere to. 8)

In the second episode, Coulson gets beaten up by a woman who apparently may have been an ex-lover of his.
His lip bleeds, so the likelihood Coulson is an android/robot is close to zero.

I've seen every episode since the pilot, and its pretty good overall. They've already made some story choices I wouldn't have, but the cast seems to really get along, and Clark Gregg has a lot more room to expand as Coulson. Ming-Na's also great as Melinda May; this episode showed a tiny hint of her more relaxed side.

It's actually a pretty cool show for the most part. Not solely because Phil is in it.

That was pretty epic, on deeper and just action levels. I guess the show is catching up to their filming progress too quickly or they think people do't have access to abc on a holiday vacation.

That was a hell of a mid-season finale, definitely didn't see it coming. And I was wondering how long it'd be before they developed the Centipede story.

Was Centipede an actual evil organization in Marvel Comics? Or did they invent it for the show?

Looking forward to (January 7th, isn't it?) and the return of the show.

I've watched every episode so far. I REALLY like the show BUT I still prefer Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly. I haven't seen Dollhouse yet. Joss Whedon shows are becoming a minor special interest (although animals, especially pets, is still my main interest). :D Fitz and Simmons are my favorites so far. Although I don't think any characters qualify as aspies, many characters have aspie traits. Fitz and Simmons are noticeably odd and gifted, Skye is obsessive and REALLY good at certain things (like hacking), and Ward is great at his job but (supposedly) terrible with other people.

The advertisements for the show look interesting, but I hate long acronyms because they seem forced, doing things like including letters for words that don't need to be there or not including letters for some of the words that exist in the spelled-out version.

S.H.I.E.L.D. stands for "Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division" or "Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate". That bothers me very much.

In the films and TV show, the acronym stands for "Strategic Homeland Intervention and Enforcement Logistics Division". Ward even made a sarcastic remark about it in the first or second episode.
