THE WRATH OF BUCKY!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

I like the costume change. I was disappointed that they didn't keep the WWII/Ultimates style costume from the first movie for Avengers...

Black suit now, huh? I guess that's keeping with the tradition of what they did to Wolverine and the X-Men, Spiderman and Superman, although Supes' was simply darker, not black.

You'd think that, after years and years of watching super hero movies and reading comic books, I'd get tired of these franchises. I mean, the stories are basically the same: the hero will take his lumps, re-evaluate his talents and goals, but then always comes out triumphant in the end because he's desperately needed as mankind's only hope.

Maybe I come for the explosions. Or the magic. Or the special effects. Whatever. They can sign me up.

It's the hero with a thousand faces, man... That's primal, compelling stuff.

From the creators of Arrested Development, eh? :D

I can't wait to see Robert Redford as one of the villains in this sequel. However, I'm curious to know why Marvel is releasing Captain America: The Winter Soldier in April 2014 instead
of Summer 2014.

There's already several high-profile films targeted for release during that period...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (May 2)
Godzilla (May 16)
X-Men: Days of Future Past (May 23)
Maleficent (May 30)
How To Train Your Dragon 2 (June 13)
Transformers: Age of Extinction (June 27)
Fast & Furious 7 (July 11)
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (July 18 )
Planes: Fire & Rescue (July 18 )
Hercules (July 25)
Fifty Shades of Grey (August 1)
Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (August 8 )
The Expendables 3 (August 15)
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (August 22)

They're starting the hype before Thor 2 even comes out? Give everyone else a chance!

And there's the one that matters. They've got so many films to fit in before Age Of Ultron and Ant Man, and GotG has to be last because actors from the others are required for Avengers. I guess Guardians could be delayed until Autumn.

That could happen, likely because MARVEL may not want fans feeling fatigued
during the Summer 2014 movie season, given that MARVEL has two other movies set for release during that period.

IMO, what MARVEL could do is bump back Guardians Of The Galaxy until the 2014 holiday movie season and in turn, bump back X-Men: Days Of Future Past to August 2014. However, the likelihood of MARVEL actually doing so is slim to none.

I hope that it's better than 'Iron Man 3' or 'Howard the Duck'...

Seriously though Cap is my fave superhero from Marvel and I enjoyed the graphic novel version of this story, so I think that this will be good.

However there seems to be little or no sign of the Red Skull (who was the main villain in the book) and yes while I am aware that he was killed in the last Captain America film (which I enjoyed) I think that he could be brought back from the dead, just like almost every other character who has ever died in comics (barring Ben Parker and Jayson Todd) and it would seem that he could get a good role in this film (if he were used) as we also shall be seeing Sam Wilson (aka the Falcon) who is another of my fave characters.

In any case I'm looking forward to this one with bated breath...

I'm a little concerned about the lack of red, white and blue on the costume and, the anti-government overtones of the trailer. I know that they have been developing this story line for awhile. In the Avengers movie too but, I think Captain American needs to retain a certain amount of Jingoism to remain true to his character concept. That being said it will be interesting to see how the broader story arcs pan out.

Captain America has so often been portrayed as struggling with his nationalism that it's still pretty true to character to see him questioning SHIELD. His time as Nomad, his role in Marvel's Civil War, a lot of his most recent years...Captain America represented jingoism back in the 40's and back in the cold war-era comics (which they retconned, kind of), but in modern America he represents a sort of jaded longing for the days when there were better reasons to feel that national pride. I think it's far more appropriate right now to see him as he is seemingly going to be portrayed than if the movie were to really play up his love of America no matter the time or circumstance.

News flash: the Founders of the USA were strongly against governmental tyranny. They fled Europe and fought numerous wars to make sure certain "roadblocks" stayed in place.

Jingoism
I had to look that word up, and it doesn't seem to fit Cap's frame of mind. He stands for what America was originally built on: honor, integrity, and personal responsibility. He loves the USA, but isn't afraid to call corrupt citizens on their crap, no matter their rank.

Guardians of the Galaxy that's a Marvel comic? It looks like it will be more like CGI?

I see that Hercules will be in theaters next year, but two different actors will portray him. The Rock and Kellan Lutz. There are two different movies.
