Ok there is some nasty sick evil twisted...just plain wrong stuff out there, but what are some of the films/series you have watched with scenes or themes that shocked (tearjerkers included), horrified or just disturbed you the most?
Remember the spoiler tags guys if you want to go into detail, but it would be easier to just write the name of the movie or series.

I've seen some movies that remain with me till this day because they were so shocking. They include:
Men Behind the Sun
Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood
August Underground
Slaughtered Vomit Dolls
Irreversible
Pan's Labyrinth
L'Intereurs
Laboratory of the Devil

Basic. There is one particular scene where an investigator played by John Travolta is grilling a wounded member of special forces named Kendal played by Giovani Ribbissi, suspected in murder and drug dealing. In order to keep Kendal from talking, he is poisoned, causing him to suddenly to be taken with explosive projectile vomiting blood. Needless to say, he doesn't live much longer. That scene has always been one of the most disturbing for me.

The sex scene between Ms. Choksondik and Mr. Mackey is extremely disturbing.

Very disturbing scenes. :D

Here are the ones I couldn't find scenes of:
-"All things bright and beautiful," from Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
-Ripley meets the other clones, from Alien Resurrection.
-Silvio kills Adriana, from The Soprano's
-Tony kills Christopher, from The Soprano's
-"This is the life," from The Elephant Man-poor guy :(
-"Don't go in there," from I, Claudius. --The best show ever made imo.
-Chest Defibrillation, from The Thing.--1982

When I was a horror fan many years ago, I was increasingly sickened by two things that kept escalating through the years: gory violence and explicit sexuality. In contrast, look at the original "Halloween" sometime. The biggest sexual moments are a 1-minute romp between Linda and her boyfriend Bob, and Judith being topless during Michael's attack as a child. The most violent scene is probably Judith's murder, which is mostly done as an extreme closeup so nothing's truly graphic. However, the moment the sequels started, everything was increased...and the entire genre exploded into an ultra-raunchy, extremely bloody mess. That's two of the reasons I quit watching such garbage, and also why I'm so wary of modern films now. I can usually tell by the trailers or early reviews if I want to see something, and sadly, most of what's made these days gets passed up. :(

Apart from documentaries, the only kind of films I like are the kind of horror/violent ones. I'm 15, but I've seen all the Saw films, all the Final Destinations, the Paranormal Activity series, many of the popular horror films from the past decade or so (like Insidious) as well as stuff like the Human Centipede. The gore type films, as cool as they are, don't shock or bother me at all. Especially films like Final Destination; I find them funny. The more psychological type, like The Ring or The Grudge are more my sort of thing, although again they didn't really 'disturb' me that much. I've been watching stuff like that for quite a few years, so it's no surprise it doesn't bother me I guess.

I'm a big horror fan, but I am rarely disturbed by the films I watch as gore, shocks and scares doesn't normal bother me. I did watch a really good Spanish film last year called Sleep Tight, which for the first time in a while had moments that even I found disturbing. I think it's because instead of having a supernatural monster or an extremely mentally unstable outsider it hits a good note about the potential monster inside that person that you say hi to on the street, that seems normal and happy, but inside they are disconnect from the world and have very dark feelings.

The Passion of the Christ made me real uncomfortable, especially since I was 16 when the entire family went to the theater to see it. At night.

Yeah, its definitely a violent film worthy of the R rating, and I wouldn't recommend young kids seeing it at all. I still think that most who protested against that movie used its violence as an excuse. They didn't care too much (if at all) about the blood; what bothered them was it happening to Jesus. The church has watered down the truth of the Crucifixion for so long, just like Noah's Ark. We need to get illustrations like this completely out of the churches, because they present the idea of such events being a fairy tale...

A Serbian Film: Two words-- Newborn porn.
The Truman Show- Ed Harris's performance as Cristoff has got to be one of the most chilling things I've seen.
RoboCop- Murphy's torture at the hands of Clarence Boddicker. The subsequent hospital scene is not pleasant, either.
Any Todd Solondz movie ever.
Cannibal Holocaust- I won't even go into detail.
Men Behind the Sun
Ken Park

Tetsuo: The Iron Man

The Skin I Live In

Dead Ringers

Eraserhead

and yes Videodrome

Neon Genesis Evangelion (the original series & especially the movie finale End of Evangelion) - Even though I knew all of the spoilers beforehand, it definitely didn't prepare me for seeing the story play out onscreen. Pretty much everything about it disturbed me to my very core, and to this day I use it as a marker for how much other things (especially anime) disturb me.

Steins;Gate - Another mindscrew scifi anime. Gets really dark the further you get into the series. Had a great ending though.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - A little bit easier to stomach than Evangelion, but still disturbing in its own way.

Elfen Lied - Infamous for being bloody, gory, and really, really sad. It's only 12 or 13 episodes long but I could never even reach the halfway point.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (AKA Higurashi - When They Cry) - Infamous for its cute but psycho female characters. It's very creepy - and it goes on for 2 or 3 seasons to boot! (haven't finished it)

Honorable mentions:

Day Break Illusion - Similar to Madoka Magica (the first episode anyway - haven't gotten around to finishing it)

Black Rock Shooter - Similar to Madoka Magica, though it kind of runs backwards in that it starts out pretty dark but lightens up towards the end.

Bokurano - Similar to Evangelion (haven't finished it though)

Shadow Star Naru Taru (not to be confused with Naruto) - Is to Pokemon/Digimon what Evangelion is to giant robots and Madoka Magica is to magical girls (at least that's my understanding - it's another one I haven't finished.)

Most of the 1980s Miami Vice series qualifies in this way, especially in the final season.
