Anyone seen the newest Thor yet? What did you all think? I had some questions. I thought it was better than first one. I did stay for two bonus scenes during the credits. Thor will return, but when??! !? :(

I saw it opening day (USA). Overall I thought that it seemed better than the first one, but it also had a lot of flaws that bothered me. The writing was fairly weak a lot of the time, and I could definitely understand why they felt the need to call in Joss Whedon to re-write as much as he could of the original script. A lot of things felt a little gimmick-y and overdone. I certainly appreciated some of the elements of it and I liked to basic story idea, but I can understand why critics aren't giving it rave reviews.

I enjoyed it, much more than "Iron Man 3" in fact. The story was heartfelt, the action engaging, and the effects top-notch as always. The tone was notably different due to a change in directors, but all around it was a very solid effort. 8/10 all the way from me.

A few minor issues, though...SPOILER WARNING!! !

1) Why did Frigga have to die? It's bad enough Rene's best work in the first film got cut, but now they kill her off?

2)How was Loki able to impersonate Odin at the end? Did he kill the Allfather at some point?

3) The whole "Erik Selvig streaks" concept was completely inappropriate, as was him not wearing pants around Jane or Darcy.

My wife and I just saw the movie, and we both very much enjoyed it. I personally thought it was an improvement on the original Thor movie.
I liked when Thor asked his father Odin what made him any different from the Dark Elf king. I thought that was a nod in the right direction to the Odin/Wodan of Norse/Germanic mythology, where the god is portrayed as ruthless and treacherous.

It would seem that he either restrained or killed him, yes.

I had some questions to about the movie.

1. How come Thor and Odin can touch Jane Foster? While the Ascardian guards couldn't touch her? Aether got into her body? That's why the Dark Elf boss Malekith wanted Jane? So did Jane go to Svartalfheim, or to another portal where the aether infected her body?

2. Loki cuts off Thor's right hand and stabs him, yet his hand is fine. Was this an illusion from Loki to tease Malekith? Loki has many powers. Healing, teleport, shapeshifter and illusion? He seems to be like Wolverine in a sense since he can heal. He also seems to be like Mystique since he can be anybody he wants to change to. He's like Nightcrawler since he can teleport.

3. Loki apparently dies from that stab wound. You see it enter his body and he "dies" in front of Thor then you so see Loki's face turn blue just like a Frost Giant. Speaking of which how come Loki isn't blue all the time? Is it because he grew up in Ascard so he maintains a human like feature? When the Ascardian guard tells Odin that there was a body, that guard has to be Loki himself! So Loki can't die! You can stab him through his body and he can heal. But yet how can Thor heal from having his hand chopped off and stabbed?

4. If Loki was present when Queen Frigga got stabbed could he have saved her from his healing power?

5. Odin could be in the dungeons. About that how come Loki couldn't escape the dungeon where he was being imprisoned? He's so powerful!

I just got back from seeing it and overall I liked it better than the first one, and I thought the first one was well done too. This gets an 8/10 from me.

I'm assuming everyone who saw the movie also stayed to see both end credit segments?

I've just seen it. Pretty good. :)

I think the guard who reported Loki dead was Loki himself. If Loki was pretending to be Odin at the end, what happened to him?

Me three!

IMO, Thor: The Dark World was just as enjoyable as the first Thor movie, but there were many loose ends that would justify a possible Thor 3.

The only thing I really disliked about the movie was Malekith not being all that threatening as a villain. Not a whole lot of backstory or anything, like Loki.
