Any thoughts on an aspie trying to survive in an environment like the series "Mad Men"? (can be in their working world or one of the wives)

I was just wondering because it seems like one of the worst places for an aspie to thrive.

I didn't watch more than maybe 6 or 7 episodes, but the show seemed to be saying that a marketing career is difficult for anyone to thrive in. The main character has to play businessman, psychologist, politician and artist.

As a TV show, it is interesting and well made. It just seems like such an unpleasant environment to live in both at work and at home.

Those are my thoughts as well. I am eager for the final season. I wish they didn't split it into two parts like they did with Breaking Bad.

They split the last season of "The Sopranos" as well. I wish they would do what Netflix does and make each season available at once.

Is there ever an easy time for aspies to thrive?

I was a child in the 1950s in a world like "Mad Men". I hated it. In the 1960s, that world continued but I turned to the hippie culture and it was much more comfortable for me.

I think aspies would be happier in a setting that accepts eccentricity over the conformity and disdain for anything different that is found in the corporate world.

That is why I asked. To see what others thought about living a life in a "Mad Men" setting.

I was born in 1966, so I was obviously too young to appreciate culture outside my immediate family life at the time. But had I been older, I suspect I would have either been a beatnik in the '50's, or a hippie in the '60's.
