During lunch breaks while filming of episodes of The Walking Dead, the zombie cast would eat together while the human cast would eat together. There is not a single use of the word 'Zombie' in the series.

Michael Stuhlbarg did a very thorough research of Arnold Rothstein for Boardwalk Empire.

The actors and actresses of Mad Men do not smoke real cigarettes.

The 1984 film Splash, which I have yet to see, popularized "Madison" as a girl's name.

For the original Star Wars, Luke's last name was originally gonna be "Starkiller."

1) When the first "Back to the Future" film was made, Universal head Sid Sheinberg wanted the title changed to "Spaceman from Pluto", referencing Sherman Peabody's comic book in the "barn crash" scene. Steven Spielberg sent a memo to Sheinberg, thanking him for a well-timed "joke", knowing Sid's pride would keep him from complaining any further.

2) Tom Welling is the only actor to appear in all 217 episodes of the "Smallville" television series. Allison Mack takes second place with 204, and Kristin Kreuk is third with 161.

3) "Luke, I am your father" is the most misquoted line in the "Star Wars" franchise, never appearing in any of the films. The correct exchange goes as follows...

Vader: "Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father."
Luke: "He told me enough! He told me you killed him."
Vader: "No...I am your father."

4) John Candy filmed all his scenes for "Home Alone" in one 23-hour shooting day.

5) During the filming of "When Harry Met Sally", Billy Crystal intentionally blew takes during Meg Ryan's "fake orgasm" scene, just so he could watch her do it again.

"D'oh!", a catchphrase often used by Homer Simpson on TV's The Simpsons, was inspired by Jimmy Finlayson, the mustachioed Scottish actor who appeared in 33 Laurel and Hardy films. Finlayson had used the term as a minced oath for suggesting the word "damn!" without actually saying it. Matt Groening felt that it would better suit the timing of animation if it were spoken faster. Homer's voice actor, Dan Castellaneta, then shortened it to a quickly uttered "d'oh!", rendering it as a drawn out "dooooooh"!

In 1998, the catchphrase was added into The New Oxford Dictionary of English.
In 2001, it was added to the Oxford English Dictionary.

In House, M.D., Hugh Laurie is a British person playing a doctor with an American accent, while his father is actually a real doctor.

When filming Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, there's a scene where Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli come across the burned Uruk-hai bodies and believe the hobbits dead. Aragorn kicks a helmet and shouts in pain, which is because actor Viggo Mortensen kicked it so hard he broke his toes. It was a genuine pained scream.

The script for Back to the Future was rejected 40 times before getting green-lit. Also, the film was almost titled 'Spaceman from Pluto'.

Clint Eastwood was asked for permission about his name being used for Marty in the third film. He consented and was said to be tickled by the homage.

The hit song "Maniac" from the film Flashdance was originally inspired by the horror film Maniac. Michael Sembello wrote the song after seeing the 1980 movie about a serial killer in New York City. The lyrics had to be changed before it could be used in Flashdance.

Timmy Turner, the protagonist of The Fairly OddParents, was originally meant to wear a blue hat. However, creator Butch Hartman ran out of blue ink, so he colored Timmy's hat pink.
