I specifically love these movies because it's one of the few series where each movie, as if the first wasn't good enough as it was, got progressively better as time went on and the last movie was by far the best IMO, even if its a bit long.

Notes:

* I'm limiting myself to stuff I actually own on DVD or Blu-ray. If it's not listed, I don't have it. I also limited myself to series with three or more entries. Some of my favorite films are part of a larger series with entries I either haven't seen or don't care enough about to own, like Halloween and Halloween II, Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, some of the Hammer Dracula and Frankenstein films (Horror of Dracula, Dracula Has Risen from the Grave, The Curse of Frankenstein, Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed), etc. If there's a single film in a series that I don't own, none of the series is listed. I won't even rank the Nightmare on Elm Street films, even though I'm only missing one entry (Freddy vs. Jason).

* Although the Universal Dracula and Frankenstein series continuted with crossovers I don't own like Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man and House of Dracula, I consider Son of Dracula and The Ghost of Frankenstein to be the true end of each series, since the crossovers maintained practically no continuity.

* I included the TV series on a couple of occasions, when I felt it was signicifantly better than some of the films.

* I'm just doing this by the seat of my pants, and with a few exceptions, these rankings could change if I did this again tomorrow.

* I can't rank the Showa Godzilla films since I'm missing a few, but I ranked the Heisei and Millennium series.
