Several flaws, though.

Starship could not operate like that within atmosphere (not the generation they used, at least).

Starship could EASILY outmaneuver the Death Star's main weapon.

Death Star's main weapon is a planet killer. Odds are a shot from that would have wiped out more than just the starship.
