Anyone else following this? The novel wasn't among my favorite Stephen King novels, but I'm enjoying the series so far.

I am enjoying it so far too. It was a very slow build but then by the end of the first season I was hooked.

I've seen the first season and liked it a lot. They will renew it before they show the second season here.

That slow buildup is why I didn't make it through the novel, but it plays out better on a screen. Maybe it was just information overload.

Either way, I don't know what happens and I'm enjoying how tense things are getting. I actually would care if they ever resorted to eating people at this point.

It didn't do so well when it aired in the UK, but am I right in presuming that in its native US, Under the Dome will be getting a second season, mastered by King himself? Not me denouncing it or anything, just a curious question.

Judging by the adverts I've seen of it, I just thought it was some random low-budget Canadian series. I didn't know people outside of Canada even knew about it. I've never watched it, but it doesn't really look like it would appeal to me. :P

Never read the book, but I like the show.

I'm reading the book right now, and it's getting on my nerves. Too many characters for me.

More than in the show?

I've not seen the show but I would guess it works better on screen than on page. There is really only one character of any distinction in the book. I keep forgetting who all the others are!

That's correct. We're currently on episode 4.

Sad to hear that it didn't do well in the UK. Maybe there are less fans of King's work over there?

Yeah, I had the same experience. There's a lot going on right now in the series and it's getting a little dark, but it's easier to keep track of who's doing what and where with actors.
