I tried scanning the net but can not seem to find what I am looking for.

I once watched a movie where some kind of alien plant started spreading trying to take over the world, and hardly anything would kill it. I think it came from the future but not sure, and i think there was a message from the future as well about how to kill it. in the future the cure for the plant was destroyed because of industrial use of under sea volcanic vents, where in the present it still existed. the plant was stored on a satellite in space and I think thats where it came from when it crashed down to earth in the future. in the end the cure had to be used on the central part of the plant in order to kill it.

For the life of me I cant think of the name of the movie, and I been rattling my brains for months now. I think it had numbers in the title, or the plant was called some kind of number from where it was stored in the satellite. the movie was made sometime within the last 20 years and I seen it about a year or so ago. anyone have any idea its name?

See where it says "1920,1929"? Just change those numbers to a different decade----say, "1980,1989"----just make sure you don't put any spaces, in there. Also, the paragraph above that starts with "NOTE", applies on the decade pages, as well.

The only plant based invasion movie I know of is Invasion of the Body Snatchers. There was a remake that was released in 1978.

Plan 9 from Outer Space? I don't know if that has plants or not.

I found it, my problem was I was confusing two different movies that was almost alike, thinking of them as if they were one and the same movie, when they were not. ended up watching them both over again, but thank you for trying.

But I was gonna say that I saw something like that back in the late Eighties. It was a British import on American PBS (not a normal movie in theaters, but I guess a 'made for TV' movie).

It was called "the Triffids".

Man eating plants from outerspace that take over the world.
Some new kind of tall wierd planet is discovered in a remote corner of Ecuador. Its an odd curiosity because the plant can slowly walk around on its roots. They suddenly become a fad as a house plant the world over.

But then- a seemingly unrelated thing happens.

The whole world is treated to a spectacular world wide meteor shower. So every human on the planet is riveted and watching the night sky. The next morning every human on the planet wakes up and discovers that they are as blind as a post! It was all a deliberate trick!

After the meteor incident the triffid plants go on the attack. They move ridiculously slowly but since humans have lost their only advantage (vision) we all fall prey to the attacking shrubery!

Then it was my bedtime. Didnt see the end. Never saw it again. But the start was cool.

The musical remake of "the Little Shop of Horrors" came out about the same time (late eighties). So we would joke that we ought to get one of each: a triffid, and a LSOH plant for the house, and watch 'em duke it out!

It was the newest Andromeda strain movie, at first I didn't think it was because I was also thinking of another movie where vines were taking over the world (already forgot the name of the movie again, sorry, it wasn't all that memorable or well made, and I already emptied my history catch).
