Does Nygma seem autistic to anyone else? It seems really obvious to me and I would love it if he were because he's my favourite!

The thought had crossed my mind more than once. What I'd like to see is why he becomes a criminal, because so far he doesn't express any too terrible of a dark side that I can recall.

Nygma does have an obsession with riddles, that is only one side of his character, although connected. The other part is that he suffers from a strong superiority complex, this has so far been shown by the fact he gets angry when people quickly solve his riddles. He is compelled to prove that he is intellectually superior, even as it blinds him to what else he may want. It does look a little like autism, but I am not sure that is necessarily so.

I can see where he may turn to crime, as someone might solve crimes better than him he will feel compelled to prove his superiority, creating extravagant crimes and leaving clues to prove how brilliant he is.

A lot of the Batman villains suffer from mental illnesses, which is why often a the asylum is a place they are locked up. Penguin suffers from delusions of grandeur, which has been shown in his mother and how he tries to act high and mighty even as he is weaselling everyone around him. Harvey Dent is Bipolar and will eventually have multiple personality disorder. Ivy already suffers from some complexes about men in how she feels wronged, and it may be that which draws her into plants that do not betray her while she has started to use appeal to draw people in as manipulation.
