Monstrous.

A young mother is fleeing from her ex husband with her young son, when in the new house they're renting, they are haunted by a monster from the near by pond. Or is it?

Tim Burton's Dumbo.

Eva Green and Dumbo were great. Nothing spectacular.

Studio 666.

Horror comedy starring the Foo Fighters as themselves, where they are staying at a haunted mansion, where the last band had died in murder/mutilation-suicide, in order to complete a new album. Dave Grohl goes Jack Nicholson on the rest of the band. Great brainless fun.

My boyfriend and I just watched Raiders of the Lost Ark which turned out to be a treat as he has never seen it. For years, it was of no interest to him but he discovered it was fun.

^ While conducting explorations a few days ago in some seldom visited parts of the house, I noticed that I had a copy of that on VHS. Maybe time to experience it again after maybe 20 years....

Halloween Ends.

Is this really the end? Rather different, very twisted telling of the final confrontation of between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, exploring long term trauma in individuals and communities, as well as said community's role in creating monsters.

The Primer (2004)

Good movie, and interesting handling of the plot but I can also see why they'd say you have to watch it a few times to sort out all of the timelines.

Last night my bride and I watched:

Solaris [1972] We watched it in Russian, with English subtitles.
<=>"Let us take you with us to Solaris, planet of mystery,
<=>-Let usembodiment of man's latent conflict with the unknown.
<=>-Let us take yMan, face to face with his conscience, and with his past."

I noted that it is highly regarded.

My bride noted that the cinematography was wonderful. And I agree—visually, the movie is very, very good.

I noted that I thought they'd crammed a ten minute story into an almost three-hour movie.

We both noted it was very, very long.

I recommend it to anyone with insomnia.

Oz The Great And Powerful.

I gave up halfway. It's all over the place and too much going on.
