This movie currently has an IMDb user rating of 3.7. That sounds fair. It is not a complete mess...just very far from great.

This movie displays many of the characteristics of 1950's science fiction films that cause many people to avoid them. Except, this film was released in 1961.

If you like to watch so-so 1950's science fiction films then you might like this comparable film.
Otherwise, avoid it!

This film is not set in the distant future...but it should've been.
It claims to show events set in 1980! Incredible optimism.

I remember seeing that on Mystery Science Theater years ago. They made jokes about the Solarite looking like Goofy from Disney. Incidentally, the actor behind the Goofy... er, I mean Solarite mask was the late Richard Kiel.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Rankin/Bass 1970

I absolutely adore Kris & Jessica's wedding (at 41:38).
It's my dream wedding.

Don't mind me but I'm crying now.

Shutter Island. (as brilliant as ever!)

Elvis.(2022 film) Really enjoyed it!

Vivarium (2019 thriller) Woah! What a film! Moral of the story … never go house-hunting with an Alien realtor! 8O

The Holiday (my favourite Christmas film.) Shot just down the road from me in Shere & Godalming, Surrey.

Batman Vs. Dracula.

DC animated movie. The title pretty well describes the quality of the story. Still, it had its moments, such as when Dracula feels a certain kinship with Batman, as he sees Batman as having kept him memory alive. As well as how Batman captures a newly turned Joker, and makes the choice of returning humanity back his worst enemy.

A good range of films. I want to check out Vivarium. I want to check out The Holiday too. Shutter Island is a good film.

Last night, as suggested by my bride, we watched:

Krampus [2015]
<=>"You Better Watch Out."

Not horrible. Not great. OK...I guess.

The family was almost as scary as the monster.

A Christmas staple.

Amsterdam.

Dark comedy taking place in 1933, fictionalizing a forgotten chapter of American history, when fascists tried to lead a coup against the Roosevelt administration, replacing the elected government with a totalitarian racist type modeled on the kind in Germany and Italy. This is discovered by three friends from WWI - former army officer turned junky doctor, black soldier turned lawyer, and the nurse and avantgarde artist who loves him - who find themselves together again after spending the finish of the war in Amsterdam twelve years before.
Great movie, highly recommended.

Black Adam.

The Justice Society fights a Bronze Age anti-hero in a Middle Eastern country occupied by mercenaries. But is he the real enemy?
Brainless fun and goofy sentimentality.

Watched this one last night with my parents.
My mom's comment afterward was something like "debauchery!" :)

H.P. Lovecraft's Witch House.

Long have Lovecraft fans been waiting for a decent movie adaption of Lovecraft's story, The Dreams In The Witch House. Well, this isn't it.
