A little long, but an excellent film full of what one could want from a film featuring aliens and what one may think what the apocalypse could be like. Can't wait to see what Jordan Peele does next! :)

Last night I watched:

Assignment: Outer Space [1960]
<=>"Fear awaits ...... in the murky mists of outer space!"



IMDb rating of 3.7. Seems about right.

The announcer for the trailer sounds a lot more enthused than you are likely to be.

I found your comment funny, and I haven't seen the film, but the trailer served its purpose. HA! Now I have to look it up.

I watched Lightyear earlier in the evening with my son. I enjoyed it.
Currently watching The Age of Adaline ... again. I've watched at least eight times since I saw it at the theater. I have it on disc, and yet I'm currently streaming it on Netflix. How's that for laziness? The Blu-Ray/DVD (the set contains both) is literally less than 10 feet from me, and I'm streaming it. Shamelessly using up bandwidth.

I watched the trilogy 'The Kissing Booth'. It was good to pass the time but the plot was far too unrealistic, far too melodramatic and unlikely. I wanted to slap all the characters.

If Elle, the heroine, had to end up with any of the boys, it should have been:

Marco. Because he was the only one who made her happy and didn't put any expectations on her. The other boys just manipulated her and made her cry constantly. As usual, the nice guy doesn't get rewarded :roll:


I'd probably give this trilogy 2/5 stars.

We are on a Star Trek binge!

Fortunately, I'm getting off easy because my bride isn't too much into the spin-off series. Trying to watch the whole franchise would be a humongous undertaking.

After watching:
<=>- Star Trek [1966–1969]
<=>- Star Trek: The Animated Series [1973–1975]

We just last night finished watching the films:
<=>- Star Trek: The Motion Picture [1979]
<=>- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan [1982]
<=>- Star Trek III: The Search for Spock [1984]
<=>- Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home [1986]
<=>- Star Trek V: The Final Frontier [1989]
<=>- Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country [1991]
<=>- Star Trek: Generations [1994]_
<=>- Star Trek: First Contact [1996]
<=>- Star Trek: Insurrection [1998]
<=>- Star Trek: Nemesis [2002]
<=>- Star Trek [2009]_
<=>- Star Trek Into Darkness [2013]
<=>- Star Trek Beyond [2016] Released 50 years after TOS!

Next we will watch a couple of the series from way down the timeline:
<=>- Star Trek: Short Treks [2018–2020]
<=>- Star Trek: Lower Decks [2020–?]

And we look forward to someday watching:
<=>- Star Trek 4 [2023?]


I'd say all of the films are at least good and a number of them are quite good.

The lines I remembered from previous viewings and enjoyed hearing again:
=>"Everybody remember where we parked." and
=>"Is there a problem, officer? "

@ Everyone: Let's all be glad Quentin Tarantino will NOT be directing the next Star Trek
film. Can you imagine a Star Trek film using style over story & being rated R? :x

We've previously seen Star Trek: Lower Decks season 1.

IMDb currently gives the series a rating of 7.3 and that seems fair to me. It is pretty good. Not great and not profound, but pretty good and kind of fun to watch.

IMDb also lists its genres as: Animation, Action, Adventure, Comedy, and Sci-Fi. It's not comedy like Looney Tunes but rather like The Big Bang Theory...it tells a Science Fiction story but makes you smile (and occasionally laugh) along the way.

Since our previous viewing of Season 1 we've added Season 2. I'm looking forward to watching both.

Note: It has half-hour episodes. That affects pacesort of fast and depthlike I said, not profound .

Crimes Of The Future.

David Cronenberg's latest film, where a performance artist, working with an ex trauma surgeon, grows new organs inside his body, then has her remove them in public, in a future world where such things are both sexually alluring and often illegal. The artist learns of a group replacing the human digestive system with new organs that can digest plastic, making a human being specifically fitted to the industrial world.
If this sounds crazy and grotesque, you're absolutely right. Great film.
