I just watched "Sweet Movie"

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072235/

About the weirdest movie that you would ever be tempted to see. Some nice T&A, interspersed with some disturbing imagery.

Also, some dick, if you like dick.

Quote:
Because of her role in the film, Anna Prucnal was exiled from her native Poland for 7 years. The government even denied her a visa to see her dying mother.

Solaris by Andrei Tarkovsky. Liked it better than his other Sci-Fi film Stalker.

The Phantom of the Opera (1925 and 1929 re-release)

Before posting this, I watched a YouTube video about how nuts the editing is on these versions, because there are differences. I knew they were different, but I learn some new things about how the 1925 version was filmed and how there were three versions in 1925.
The "lantern man" can be seen as a extra on the BFI Blu-Ray/DVD.

I also have The Milestone Collection DVD and the Blackhawk Films DVD.

The Football Factory (2004)

A film that analyses/bemoans/celebrates the last days of football hooliganism in the UK, with particular focus on the fans of Chelsea and Millwall FC. You get the immersive point of view experience of the rather nihilistic perpetrators here, but there's also a counterbalancing reflective perspective as well.

As someone who witnessed the phenomenon at its height in the 1970s, and was both repelled and fascinated by it, I can appreciate both angles. British football these days is a very politically correct and 'safe' product, but also an extremely sterile one which seems to me to have had much of its lifeblood sucked out of it. I haven't been to a game since 2005, and have not felt the slightest desire to do so, lol.

Knock At The Cabin.

A single sex couple and their adopted daughter find their vacation in the woods interrupted by four strangers claiming they must kill one of their loved ones to prevent the end of the world. Are they religious fanatics? Or are they homophobic bigots who have targeted the family in order to play cruel mind games? Or is what they're saying somehow terribly true?
Enjoyable psychological horror film.

Last night I watched:

In the Year 2889 [1969]

There is nothing in the film relating it to the year 2889; apparently the studio just happened to have that title registered for a different movie they ended up not making, so it was cheap to put the title on this film. A lot of other things about this film also appear to be cheap, including the writing and acting.

The current IMDb user rating is 2.9.

Just walk the other way and try not to make eye contact.

It was pretty good. It wasn't really that scary, but it kept my attention the whole time and was interesting. I'll probably watch the second one next. lol
