The Deadly Bees

A British film made in 1966 by the Amicus studio, which was a sort of inferior rival to Hammer during that decade. It stars Suzanna Leigh, who had just made a name for herself as Elvis Presley's co-star in Paradise, Hawaiian Style. She also went on to appear in a number of Hammer films, notably The Lost Continent and Lust For A Vampire.

Here she plays a stressed out pop singer who goes to a secluded island to recuperate, and gets mixed up in a crazy story about killer bees. Not always easy to follow what's going on, but the villain turns out to be a person who bears a remarkable resemblance to a character Peter Cook used to play around this time. The film ends with a trope that will be familiar to Hammer fans, namely the baddy's house being consumed in flames.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the script written by Robert Bloch?

Yes, apparently so. And one of the songs is by Elkie Brooks, who didn't become widely known to the British public until the 1970s, when she was the lead vocalist for Vinegar Joe before embarking on a solo career.

Which version? David Lynch's film or the first part of the new film?

I would highly recommend this moving picture:

It can be seen here:

I was previously unaware of the subject of this film (Louis Wain), and also that he is thought by some to have been possibly ASD...

The Eternals, which seemed to drag on and had a very confusing plot. It was not my favorite movie in the Marvel series. 90% of the movie seemed to be about a reunion rather than super hero movie with lots of action.

I also watched "He's All That," which is a remake of the 1999 classic teen move "She's All That," which I have always loved watching. Though the Netflix version got lots of poor reviews, I loved it. Rachel Leigh Cook, who played the original Laney, played a character in this as well.
