This has flown under the radar since not many people watched.

I just watched the pilot. The "main character" (I guess) seems fairly "normal" in the opening scenes (at least to me). It is said of him that he has an unusual talent for discovering patterns and is in fact shown exhibiting very Sherlock Holmes-like traits.

Near the end, though, it is revealed that he didn't speak until he was eight and apparently has an eidetic memory like Sheldon Cooper.

I think the delayed speech is a dead giveaway from the writers that he's on the spectrum, although you could never tell from the acting (just some of the lines).

It has already been cancelled. The Americans is better.

Very true. I was just looking for any reaction to what I think is an obvious attempt to portray the character as autistic.
