So here's the deal:

I haven't decided whether I like the new Doctor or not. But what I have decided is that I can't stand Clara. Like, at all. When Eccleston regenerated into Tennant, Rose had a problem with it for all of twenty minutes. And then the Doctor came out, started being awesome, and everybody instantly loved him. Now, granted, Capaldi is a much more angry and party-pooper Doctor. But like... Last season was less about the monsters the Doctor was fighting, and more about Clara giving the Doctor a hard time because he's not as nice as Smith. And I find that incredibly annoying.

I really want a good serialized story this season. Like the seasons Matt Smith used to do. THOSE were awesome.

Anybody agree? What are your thoughts about the show? Let's talk about it!

Capaldi definitely needs a new companion. I liked Clara, but they should have left her when she jumped into the Doctor's timeline. I loved the "Missy" storyline, though. :D

Tom Baker (Fourth Doctor) is my favorite Dr. Who. I love the low budget production and the 1970's sets. I need to open up my narrow interests a bit more and explore the newer series.

Ha! That's funny. My narrow interests keep me from enjoying the old series. Like, I'll get an episode and a half into a classic serial, and if it doesn't peak my interest, I'll either shut it off or fall asleep.

I actually like Capaldi. They have put the eccentricity back into the Doctor which I felt was lacking in both David & Matt's Doctor's they were both good though.

I have a theory about the Scottish accent. Even though Capaldi is Scottish so was David Tennant but he put a cockney accent according to the writters it was to do with Rose Tyler's accent. I like to think it is to do with Amy the dream sequence at the end. I like Clara I think they could do more to her character. Maybe have it like the old days they are permanent travellers with the Doctor none of this going home. I thought the Danny Pink storyline wasn't helping much either.

I really liked the chemistry between Clara and the Doctor. For example, it was the only good thing about "Robot Of Sherwood". Honestly, I think it's my favourite companion-Doctor dynamic. I enjoyed the character-driven element of the last series.

A definite improvement on Amy, and certainly on Clara during Smith's period who was boring as anything.

Clara's character does work better with Peter Capaldi than she did with Matt Smith. To be honest, I don't think Matt Smith really needed companions really I think when Amy & Rory were in it together it sort of gave two storylines going on. What the Doctor is doing and what Amy & Rory are doing. But Peter Capaldi's Doctor needs a companion and I think Clara works better with him. Didn't like the Danny Pink story that much.
