It was "The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults", a live 2-hour special that aired in 1986. Capone's vault was unearthed on live television, and people were anxious to see what was in it.

It turned out there was only an old bottle of bathtub moonshine.

I remember the show's hype and ultimate failure to deliver the goods. I was referring to no video link or content that was visible to me when I commented. However, I now see the video in my last quote. It wasn't there when I posted...
