Yeah, remember this show very well - it was airing around the time I was 11 or 12 and it was fantastic. I think I ended up liking the original Macross series much better than the 2nd generation (with the hovertanks) or the 3rd which had the Invid etc. I didn't know it at the time but since each of the 3 generations was basically re-arranged and overdubbed clips from separate and unrelated Japanese series, any continuity between them was the result of the English language version dubbing it in and arranging footage carefully, which is why, in the end, they didn't really have that much continuity between them, though IIRC, otherwise they somewhat followed the plots of the source material. Anyway, my favorite scenes were from the 1st generation - Max fighting Mira on the streets of the city as Rick Hunter looks on from his hospital room, and also Max fighting Mira in the video arcade.
