I love this show. If this was the only thing on TV, and the only channel I had to pay for, my night would be complete.

Also: Futurama, Zim, Spongebob, Simpsons

Not that I am a TV junkie but, hey it's good background noise while I'm doing other stuff...and it's learns me!! ! :D

I like a lot of the shows on the Food Network (or as Sharon Marsh calls it on South Park, "the No-No Channel").

Yes, I have "Good Eats!" set on my DVR. I usually watch a few episodes while I am getting ready for work.
I am gonna nix my cable though soon and just keep internet and Netflix...and probably get Hulu. I don't watch tons of TV, but sometimes I just need to veg for awhile.

1. How It's Made is an awesome show.

2. Is your location a reference to one of the many Rudolph movies?

It gets run on Quest over here and uses a narrator who sounds like Sean Bean...I sometimes watch it when I visit my parents because my dad channel-hops a lot when there's nothing on. I just like the wide variety of topics; none of it is in-depth but it has so many "...I always wondered about that..." moments. Totally random, but oddly fascinating!

How it's made is a very good show it some times comes on the science channel. I also love to watch animal planet and Nat Geo Wild.

I love how it's made. The whole show is really quite hypnotic.

I like the show, but I don't like the annoying droning electronic music in it.
In terms of style I prefer the style of Dirty Jobs. That show has much more relaxed bluegrass/bluesrock music (or something) and I find the presenter incredibly funny. And Dirty Jobs is also pretty informative once you see past the goo and garbage.

The ambient electronic music is one of my favorite parts though. :( I also like the soothing voice of the female narrator, as well as all the bad puns she makes. We only get her up here in Canada though. ;)

The narrator is probably different, Discovery often replaces the narrators with American English accents with British narrators. Even on Mythbusters, the narrator is British here. I think the narrator of How It's Made is a British dude as well.
I find ambient electronic music annoying, anything ambient or lounge as well. I prefer rock and metal and similar stuff, I think they should use that more on tv.

I love watching it; i'll mute the show, put on some zen-meditation music over it and just zone out for a few hours; there is something oddly satisfying to watching those well-oiled machines do their thing
