I just saw the latest picture from the Suicide Squad film with the cast, and it's hit me that DC (and Marvel) are not responsible and should not be allowed to be on the path they're doing with the film, and all rights to their properties should be taken away, maybe put into the public domain. There, i said it.

I'd have to see more about that before I make any judgments about it. But regardless don't see why suicide should be a taboo topic plenty of murder and various violence in movies, what's so much more special about suicide. And before you say 'think of the people at risk it will drive to suicide'....I've attempted it myself, and do not think sweeping it under the rug like a dirty secret is really helpful. Thus I would not oppose this movie or have any issue with Marvel if this movie at all pertains to actual suicide, though it could just be name they came up with and actually have nothing to do with suicide as well.
Now if they are encouraging it like outright putting the messege 'hey go kill yourself' in the movie then I would take some issue but somehow I doubt that is the case. Its probably more akin to when a couple kids in the 80's killed themselves while listening to Judas Priest....and the court tried to say Judas Priest encouraged(makes no sense, why would they want their fans to kill themselves?) it when there where no lyrics in existence encouraging that. Perhaps they where suicidal metal-fans, perhaps they didn't even care what was playing either way there are no songs by them with the lyrics 'go kill yourself' or anything like that.
I mean come on why would Marvel want its fans to kill itself anymore than Judas Priest wanted their fans killing themselves?

Actually, I wasn't talking about the suicide part at all, sorry if I didn't make that clear, i was more referring to the film not looking like the source material and more like rejects from the Devil's Rejects, not at all about the films telling people to kill themselves, you ever read the comics, it's about criminals who partake in what are essentially suicide missions in exchange for leniency. So sorry to ruin your while argument and long post, that's what I was talking about, I mean katana is the only character who actually looks like they do, none of the other cast in costume I could recognize who they're supposed to be.

Lol, this tells me I am taking things far too seriously lately....that actually makes sense, I'd be bothered if something strayed to far away from whatever original version as well, there are some things I haven't wanted to watch because its some crappy looking re-make that doesn't seem to really fit with the original story line at all, or if I think the acting would not actually live up to actually portraying the characters.

So, first, let me say I totally HATE Joker's tats... They're really stupid. It's kinda like if Bruce Wayne took his shirt off and had a bat tattooed on his chest.
However, as far as the cast picture goes, I recognized Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Kitana, and Rick Flagg right off the bat.
I figure one of the others will get his/her head exploded by Amanda Waller within the first five minutes and the rest will die in the first act.
