When has "Director's Commentary" been as good as the movie?

Some of my favorites, are:

"Night at the Museum" (1 and 2; Shawn Levy - Director)

"Love, Actually" (Richard Curtis - Director)

There have been times, with each of these movies, that I have turned-on the "Director's Commentary", FIRST, for the entertainment value----versus watching the movie, FIRST, then watching it again, with commentary.

(Note: You can also post TV shows, and documentaries, etc.)

I agree about Love Actually.

There was one commentary that I thought was really exceptional, but I cannot remember what it was for. So that's a bit useless for this thread. I should ask someone I work with, because she watched the same film with commentary and also said how enjoyable it was.

Oh, yeah, I'm a HUGE fan of Richard Curtis!! I would eat spaghetti in a crowd scene, for him----and, I would almost buy a DVD of a movie PURELY because of HIS involvement in it.

Oh, yes----please DO find-out which movie it was, and come-back and let us know!

I'm a HUGE fan of the Director's Commentary, generally speaking!

Also, I just thought of another one..... "Girl Interrupted", directed by James Mangold.
