2015 MAY NOT BE A GOOD YEAR FOR MOVIES
Remember when 2013 was considered a bad year for movies and in many ways they kinda were. I mean movies like Star Trek: Into Darkness, Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel received some bad criticism from both critics and audiences. Personally while I will admit those movies aren't perfect and do have flaws even some major ones but I kinda enjoyed them. My point is we may be going through that again with this year's movies. Now it's too soon to tell as there are more movies to come but so far I've seen two movies this summer that I so wanted to see that didn't turn out as great as they could have been. The movies I'm talking about are Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World. Now I actually do sorta like these movies but not the same I enjoy their predecessors. I wasn't really counting JW to be even better than the awesomeness of the original but I expected it to be at least a worthy well done sequel, especially compared the the other 2 JP movies, and to be fair it was better than those 2 and it did have some good moments that at times were thinking yeah but is it still worth it to sit here and watch this movie and then we got to the climax which I won't spoil and despite only like 10 minutes it was freaking awesome and I walked out satisfied and thought to myself it was totally worth it. 2014 had a bunch of awesome movies (not that I've seen all of them) which had a mixture of memorable and developed characters, good storytelling, awesome action, good sense of humor, intelligence and overall fun. Movies like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, How To Train Your Dragon 2 and The Lego Movie. So far I haven't seen any of that stuff in a 2015 movie yet and I get the feeling that we may not. I say this because Terminator Genisys and Ted 2 are 2 movies that I wanted to see and judging by some early reviews it seems they're not going to do so well critically. Sure 2014 had a few bad movies but because of those other movies I mentioned being so good I can forgive them for not being so good. Other movies I wanna see this year are Ant Man, Fantastic Four, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and Spectre but I'm not feeling as excited as I was before. I should mention that I saw 1 movie this year that was really good, Kingsman: The Secret Service but that was released in January or February and I'm kinda hoping for a summer blockbuster to make me happy.
Kingsman is definitely an awesome movie. I certainly loved it. I also want to see Ant-Man, but I'm not too keen on going to see the Fantastic Four film. Part of it's me not liking the trailer and where they're going with it, and the other part of it's me thinking that the film rights to them should go back to Marvel and that the franchise would probably be better as a TV or Netflix series similar to Agents of SHIELD and Daredevil. Star Wars Episode VII I really, really want to see and I hope that theater we usually go to is doing a midnight showing for it because I would love to go to that. I'd make my dad take me since he and I are the two big Star Wars geeks in our family. I'm hoping to go and see Inside Out sometime soon, and I can't wait for The Good Dinosaur, which is being released later this year, but I'm disappointed that we aren't getting an addition to the Disney Animated Canon this year. Which reminds me, Big Hero 6 isn't mentioned in your list of great movies from 2014. They obviously did something right since they won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature this year. Into the Woods was pretty good too.
Admittedly, you're probably right on your opinion and I'm going to agree. Critically speaking, there's probably not going to be a lot good films out this year that will get a wide release (and there will be films that were released in a limited number of theaters that people won't find out about until they're either out on DVD or they watch next year's Oscars, the latter of which is how my dad and I ended up watching Nebraska, which is definitely a good and heartwarming film). Financially speaking, some of these films will probably end up making enough money to warrant a sequel. The executives in charge are going to care more about what the general public thinks than what the critics think. I think that's why Ted 2 even exists in the first place.

Pfft...I think I will live, there's season 5 of Game of Thrones, I still gotta finish watching the remaining seasons of House on netflix and then I suppose I'll want to see that new Star Wars movie, which I believe is coming out before 2016 so if there aren't a lot of great movies making it to theaters or getting much media attention it won't phase me much expect maybe going to less movies in the theater.

Kingsman was definitely a great movie with Colin Firth giving a great performance as always as the Harry Hart character, with Matthew Vaughn proving once again that he can direct.
I'll see the new Fantastic 4 movie anyway, despite what many people's opinions are on it. I'll see it because I want to know if it will be good or if it will suck. Even though this was directed by Josh Trank, Matthew Vaughn did have a hand in the movie's production. However, the film rights should have gone back to Marvel, not be kept by Fox.
I still haven't had an opportunity to see Jurassic World and Inside Out yet. I'm still waiting to get paid, so I can see these.

People are always complaining about the lack of original movies out there, and yet all they care to watch is Terminator, Star Wars, etc. Broaden your horizons and try something new. Most of the movies I see listed in this topic are sequels or comic book adaptations. Get out and see Inside Out while you're fretting over whether Big Franchise Movie Part 17 will be any good.
Apparently light and like are very familiar words to me
Inside Out isn't exactly original, just another Pixar movie and I'm getting wary of them. OH, also the Hateful Eight, I'll definitely will be going to that, love Tarantino movies. Maybe The Martian as well, though it gives me an uneasy feeling right now. Also I forgot to watch Chappie, had a really quiet release, not everyone liked it but I think I will. Might go see Snowden and Absolutely Anything as well.
The comic book genre has been dead to me since Christian Bale finished his batman movies except for Guardians of the Galaxy and that's only going to get pulled into the greater mesh of the Marvel machine.
I hadn’t thought of it, but I think I agree tb86, especially if we’re only considering the big blockbuster wannabes. And this is coming from someone whose seen A2:AoU three times. (I am a huge comic book movie nerd.) The big tent pole movies I’ve seen so far this year haven’t wowed me the way the 2014 ones that you mentioned, with the exception of the Mad Max movie and Inside Out. I have very high praise for Inside Out. Among other things, it's an excellent way to introduce the subject of emotions and the brain to young and old alike.
The new Star Wars movie premieres on December 18th, for those who are wondering.

Terminator Genesis and Ted 2 both got mixed reviews, as did Magic Mike XXL, so I'm not sure about seeing any of these. However, many people who saw Ted 2 have mentioned that people should see it primarily for Mark Wahlberg, although Seth Macfarlane is supposed to have some funny lines in it.
Mad Max: Fury Road was amazing! Tom Hardy did prove himself a worthy successor to Mel Gibson as Max, and there are supposed to be two more Mad Max movies in the works at WB.
I do plan on seeing Ant Man, Minions, and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation when they open later this month. Early reviews of Ant Man have indicated that it should be on the same level of quality as Guardians Of The Galaxy, so that's good.

This..
and this..
will be the only ones I will want to see this year and besides film has gotten really O.T.T compared to several years ago, I could iron out the monotony today with a space shovel if I really needed one.
There are hardly older actors around anymore to do the funny or serious stuff justice.
I think Creed is definitely one I want to see, because I’ve seen all the other Rocky movies and
Stallone is one of my best actors, others don’t really comply with today’s standards of living.
I heard Russell Crowe had another one out though about some sheriff turned outlaw that he plays.
