The Bridge (2011) anyone seen this series asperger actor

If anyone is looking to watch any actors to play asperger this is it, its a quite good series to be from Denmark. Some scenes might be a little awkward but at least its better the nothing. Does anyone else know of any other tv shows where any actors plays as an autistic or asperger. I can only think of Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory besides this series.

Doctor Ellingham - "Doc Martin"----EXCELLENT TV show!! In series 5, IIRC, the show got a new character, Doc Martin's aunt----she's ALSO, IMO, an Aspie!

I love The Bridge. The characters are wonderful, the actors great, and when I watched it I realized how nice it is to see a tv show that is not hysterical and glammed up. I usually can't watch tv series, but this one I lovee.

Me too - the Saga Noren character is superb

of course I have. I worked on the US version of it and got to work with the main director of the Scandinavian series (she directed one of the episodes here in the US).

In my opinion the Scandinavian show's portrayal (Saga Whatever) was another overdone caricature of only certain narrow stereotypical traits, not that different from Sheldon's.

I've never watched the program, but I have watched shows like "Borgen" on the MHz network.

But don’t you thing that look in her face was a good portrayal of high intelligent autistic, like when she says something to her co-workers and she doesn’t hesitate at all to say what needs to be said.

I thought the young adult character coldness really represents how allot of autistic view the world around them. Its also quite clear that she sees her thinking pattern is totally different then the others.

There was a character on CSI (can't recall his name) who was very socially awkward, too blunt than he meant to be, and loved nerdy stuff like a show that was clearly supposed to be Star Trek (I think he had even dressed up for the Sci-Fi convention that episode), and still lived with his mother. At first I regarded him as just crazy, though in time I realized the character was probably one of us.

Just been binge watching the first season of The Bridge on Netflix this last week or two. I think it's really good and I love the female aspie detective!

I loved the first season, and just started the second. I didn't think the autistic portrayal was really over-done, but to me it did lose part of its subtlety in the second season.

If you liked The Bridge you might also like The Break (Netflix) which is a Belgian murder mystery where a detective has to solve a case against a wall of NT behaviour that drives him of the rails. I see traits in Inspector Peeters. Anyone else seen it? Saga in The Bridge is a more obvious than Peeters but he is better at projecting 'normality' whilst self medicating in order to cope IMO.
