Does anyone remember the TV show ALF? I don't know if anyone here posted anything about ALF yet (I haven't read all of the postings in this forum yet). This was another great show. I hated how it ended though. The cliffhanger at the end of the fourth season turned out to be the series finale. The network at the time (NBC) cancelled it a few months ago. I was so upset. Too bad the internet wasn't really around back then or I would of really did something to save it. I was so angry at NBC at the time.

There was a movie (I think back in 1996) in which it showed ALF with the Alien Task Force (after the cliffhanger) but it was disappointing because none of the characters from the series were there. The movie was okay but it wasn't that great and in my opinion it was too late at that point.

I had (and still possibly have) a number of ALF shirt that I use to wear religiously as a kid at the time. I collected ALF comic books (I don't have all of them though).

I defenitely do remember ol' Gordon Shummway (sp?). I even had an ALF lunchpail with a thermos jar.

Unfortunately I saw some old reruns on Nick at Nite, but I really couldn't get into it. Maybe because the program is so out of date, Itt does rely on lot on 80s pop culture, or maybe I was just too young too understand the value and quality of the show then.

Anyone ever watch the Saturday Morning cartoon version about ALF's, I mean Gordon's life in Melmac?

Yes, I use to watch the cartoon versions of ALF. If I remember correctly there were two of those on Saturday mornings.

Yes! But just barely!

Actually, looking it up on wikipedia... I can't believe I was a whole 4 years old when this show first began. 8O

I remember Alf, all right. :) I even used one of his quotes in another forum that says to use a TV reference.
I used to have a talking Alf doll, Alf cards, Alf comic books, an Alf poster and an Alf shirt.

Yes, I agree that ALF is awesome! I love his TV show (too bad the series finale sucked). I also loved the 10-10-220 commercials he did, too!

I used to own an ALF doll who talks via a tape cassette, as well as an ALF puppet.

I read on Wikipedia that they may be making a CGI "ALF" movie, but I haven't heard much since...

I used to kind of feel bad for Alf, because even though he was a wacky, wise-cracking alien, he also suffered from survivor guilt, homesickness, and boredom from being stuck in the Tanner's house most of the time. I used to watch the cartoon that showed Alf's adventures on his home planet, Melmac, back when his name was Gordon Shumway (I think he liked his Earth name Alf better), and I wondered if his family and his friends all died when Melmac got blown up (I know his best friend and girlfriend also escaped).

I remember Alf making a guest appearance in an episode of Blossom where she falls asleep cuddling an Alf doll and dreams she meets him in Heaven. He asked her, "Where did you think I went, syndication?"

Yeah I remember it vividly. I despised it. Was just one of those things that annoyed the hell out of me. Popular TV shows tend to do that to me. Even then, which I was like 6 or 7 when it came out.

I never watched Alf till I seen a couple eps in my teens & I saw some of the eps on TV in the last few years. I never saw the end of the series but I have seen the movie. Maybe I'll pirate the series & actually get around to watching it at some point in the distant future.

Sure, I used to watch it, and I even liked it. That said, I watched it back when it first ran for the same reason why I watched Mr. Belvedere - - because I didn't have cable back then.
