Has any one seen Mozart and The Whale? I've never seen it so I have no idea if it's a good movie or not. What do you guys think?

Great! Thanks a bunch! I'm planning on asking my Aspie friend if he might want to check it out too!

Thanks. I enjoyed the film. It didn't really have much of a theatrical release (close to none at all).

I saw it. The female actress must have been either an extroverted Aspie or an NT even though the two main characters were both supposed to be Aspie. The male character was more quiet and I'm surprised he could even be around the female character for very long because she was so what I would call "over the top". I couldn't be around a person like that at all except in small doses of like 5 min and that would be pushing it.

I think the movie "Adam" better portrays Aspies better and my Aspie friends who have seen it also agree.

Personally, I liked the movie quite a bit, even though I thought the female lead character was perhaps more fitting with a Borderline Personality Disorder diagnosis than Asperger's. I especially enjoyed the fact that the movie was set, and filmed, in my own home of the Spokane area of Washington state. Watching it, I was able to recognize a lot of locales.

At first, I thought it was a great movie, but after subsequent viewings, I think of it as a piece of crap.

It was an okay, but stereotypical portrayal of characters with ASD. The movie had its good moments, but I agree Adam did better over-all.

Felt the same way as SameStars -- the portrayals felt stereotypical rather than nuanced. That lead female seemed more affected by mania-based afflictions than autism or only autism. I wouldn't, for example, show this film to an NT friend to illustrate to them a set of people on the spectrum. I certainly didn't relate to any of these portrayals.

I didn't care much for Adam either but it gets closer.
