I remember the Avengers show in the 60's. Being the awkward sod that I was I remember watching John Steed and thinking, that's how it's done. I took many cues on social interaction but many many of these were from that show, and I couldn't have had a better teacher. Class, humor, style. what thoughts are out there.

loved the show. loved the surrealism, the clothes, the furniture, even the dialogue was good. i think the remake with uma thurman was a flop.

Mrs. Peel you're needed- I agree with that. Emma was named for M (or man) appeal, the producers knew what the audience wanted. Honore Blackman was the first female lead in the show- she bailed to play p**** Galore in the James Bond movie Goldfinger.

I thought Steed was cool, too. Maybe why I'm such a dandy when it comes to dress now that I'm older. Emulating forgotten heros.

never liked the "New Avengers". The 60's show was good (wonder if it ever featured any routemasters - seems like it could be Cockneyrebel's style)
