I wonder why no one has posted a thread about the E3 video game thing which is going on right now. Well, let's use this thread to discuss all that is going on there at E3 and talk about the new games and consoles that have been announced.

The game I am most excited about that has been announced so far has got to be Mario & Luigi 2 for the DS. I absolutely loved the first game which came out for the GBA. Umm, they also announced a 2D metroid game and a Zelda game for the DS as well as a new Mario Bros. game! Can you believe it? Mario bros. is like 20 years old and it's been ages since super mario bros. 3 came out. Long overdue for a sequel.

Well, I'm a Nintendo fan as you can no doubt tell so forgive me for not being too excited about the competition. :P

What games/systems are you most excited about at E3?

To tell the truth I've been kind of disappointed so far. Unless Nintendo pulls something pretty special out of their hat for this next generation of consoles, it may very well be their last.

Lets hope this 'Revolution' is actually as revolutionary as the name implies.

Well... I'm not much of a nintendo fan myself.. The only games for Gamecube I've ever really gotten into were Skies of Arcadia Legends and Baten Kaitos.. One of which wasn't even originally produced by Nintendo. So as for me, my eyes are drawn to SquareEnix's products. It seemed like square enix's lineup at: http://gamesdomain.yahoo.com/article/113592
Was pretty good.

Mainly I've got my gaze set on FFXII, since I've been holding out ever since X-2 came out. *Wants to smack square with a silly stick for putting FFXI online* I'm pretty anxiously awaiting that one though I'm fuming about Kingdom Hearts 2. I wasn't going to buy it since I was horrible with the first when I found out Auron from FFX was going to be in it I knew I had to by it.. *grumbles* But I'm also relieved to hear that they're finally getting done messing with FFVII: Advent Children. After the preview I saw at a convention last summer I thought it was never coming out. Not that I'm much of an FF7 fan either due to it's innumerable plotholes, but I can forgive plotholes for a bit of Sephiroth fangirling. It's just a pity that they didn't include the sequel for Digital Devil Saga.. That's what I'm most anxiously waiting for. *drools*

PS3 looks interesting, as does XBOX360. But I'm getting tired of the old "All we need is better processors and graphics!" way of thinking. I've all but given up on the gaming industry, I'm very hard to impress. In case you can't tell by now, I prefer older gaming systems. In my mind, SNES still owns. That, and collections of old games. Even after all that, the PS3 still looks worht thinking about. 7 controller slots, hmm...

Sounds like you will like the revolution. You will be able to download classic games to it and play them on it legally.

Well, the new Zelda looks good. Sony seems to be winning the hype war at this time, at least from the reports I've read. Nintendo seems pretty quiet, which is why they're losing the console wars. Playing 20 years of games is nice, but what medium is going to be used for storing the games you download? Are you going to save them on memory cards, or will there be some hard drive unit? And will this include all the games that have been licensed by Nintendo, or just Nintendo-made games?

I really wish that tech demo of the opening from Final Fantsy VII was an actual game, because I would buy a PS3 for that. Although I'll end up buying one anyway at some point.

Still, it seems like the next generation of consoles will just have prettier graphics and nothing else that is really new. Sure, Nintendo's talking big about some new way of playing games, but look at their last few ideas for new ways of playing games. Remember "Connectivity"? That was a sad joke. And no one really seems to be using the DS for anything special (except Nintendo themselves).

I think PC was the winner this E3. Battlefield 2, Quake Wars, Spore, Alan Wake, Call of Duty 2, Company of Heroes, Myst V, though sadly UT2007 was only behind closed doors. Despite Nintendo's secretive showing, I nontheless look forward to the new Zelda and the Online Smash Bros. down the road.

You know that the Revolution is Wi-Fi enabled, doesn't that mean that you have to be in say, a Starbucks, for online to work? :?

No, you just need a router with wireless capability, or you can also hook up the revolution to your PC using a USB cable. :)
